Grant Writing Internship

Reports to: Development Director, Aarogya Seva Global Health Volunteer Alliance

Duration: 2 months

Location: Remote

Hours: part-time, 20 hours-week

A nominal stipend will be provided

Responsibilities include:

  • In order to facilitate the learning process within this internship, interns will be required to read and discuss 1-2 books about not-for-profit grant writing, to be selected in collaboration with the development director.
  • Identify a corporate social responsibility grant and draft application.
  • Identify 2-3 private foundation grants and draft the applications.
  • Weekly written reports to the director and biweekly debriefing calls.

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed a BA in English, social work, marketing, communications, public relations, advertising, or a related field.
  • MA in the fields of marketing, public relations, non-profit management or MSW a plus.
  • Must be accountable and have a sense of ownership about their contributions.
  • Must be a highly organized self-starter.
  • Must be able to work independently but value collaboration.
  • Ability to write, edit, and research quickly and effectively is an asset.
  • Experience in grant writing a plus.
  • Must have a good sense of humor and be able to take constructive criticism in stride.
